Even though artificial intelligence (AI) is perceived as an advanced concept, it is widely used in everyday life. The uses of AI can stretch from detailed satellite analysis to asking Siri a question.
Artificial intelligence is defined as: “The theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages”[*1] and many global companies, such as Google and Apple, already profit from it.
How has AI previously advanced?
1. Studying: AI was initially developed by studying the way the human brain thinks, learns, and decides, then applying those mechanisms to computers.

3. Neural networks: An artificial intelligence technique modelled after connections in the human brain, capable of learning and improving over time. [*2]
The future of Artificial intelligence
The next generation of the development of AI is deep learning; allowing computers to teach themselves. Deep learning techniques will allow machines to perform high-level thought and abstractions, such as advanced virtual assistants. This technology has already started to influence out daily lives and marketing, enabling more personalisation, audience clustering, predictive marketing, and sophisticated brand sentiment analysis.
